Free and open to the public, InBAF – International Book Art Fair – will feature the latest Art, Design and Architecture publications, exhibited by national and international publishers, book stores, print shops, artists and designers. Located in the heart of Rotterdam’s harbor, in a monumental warehouse, this unconventional Book Art Fair will astutely instigate new ways of apprehending books as art objects, whilst re-assessing the value of a creative sector which has been facing many challenges at our immaterial Internet age.
For its very first edition, InBAF will be coupled by a fine music program, introducing throughout the week various collective of Rotterdam based artists. On Saturday, InBAF will host a pre-party to the official Art After Party in the Schouwburg (discount tickets for the after-party will be available to purchase during the evening). For the opening night, our exhibition partner TEC ART will celebrate the festive occasion with a spectacular firework, set above the water.
Additionally, InBAF will shed light on a selected panel of innovative book publishers and artists in the course of two exceptional book presentations. For any onlookers, eager to know more about the state of the book publishing industry, please join us on Saturday and Sunday afternoon for our special events Once Upon A Time, There Was A Book….
For those of you more inclined to manual dexterity, InBAF will offer a unique zine-making workshop on Sunday, also accessible to children.
Eventually, aside the book fair, a conceptual caterer, an experimental exhibition by TEC ART as well as the No Walls Expo (sculptures and installations by R-C Art Fair) will be present on location, thereby offering visitors the chance to enjoy an utter art experience.
